Girls' Fun: The Cast - Philip

Click here for a description of when I first met Philip when I was 12, and then how I fell in love with him when I was 13.

[Below is what my 15-yr-old self wrote about Philip]
When Philip first started at our school* I noticed him cos I knew his uncle and aunt and my parents knew his parents. For a year I saw quite a lot of him (choir, handbells etc) but he got on my nerves and I didn't take a lot of notice of him, but in Autumn term '82, I began to like him more and by Xmas '82 I was madly in love with him and turned up at his house, etc, generally forcing myself upon his attention.
Then we both got interested in CND and me, him and our dads all went to Greenham together** and me and Philip got much more friendly. By that time I didn't really fancy him anymore but from then on we became friends and started going to Orienteering and CND meetings together.
After that we were friends for two years and I fancied him on and off, then in Summer '84 he went away for 2 months and I really missed him and after he got back I got a lot more serious. For more details, read diary.
*Philip started at our school in 1981, three-and-a-bit years before this diary starts. Philip was in the year below me.
** Blimey, I can remember what that journey smelt like. I was terribly excited at spending 12 hours on a coach with him. We sat next to each other and snuggled up when it was freezing cold (no heating - 80s cheap bus) in the small hours on the way home.
